Why We
Started This
The idea behind House of Solstice was never just to create somewhere people could stay for a few nights. We wanted to create places that had a bit of personality and felt genuinely nice to spend time in.
Somewhere comfortable and relaxed, but with more thought put into the interiors and the little details than you might normally expect from a holiday rental.

Our Story
We bought Equinox House on Cleveleys seafront and spent a lot of time renovating it before opening the doors to our first guests in April 2026.
Pretty much everything was chosen by us, from the colours and furniture to the artwork and smaller touches around the house. There are definitely some bolder choices in there, but that was always the point. We wanted it to feel like its own place rather than another grey holiday let.

Right On
The Seafront
One of the things we love most about the house is the location. The sea is directly across the road, you can walk into Cleveleys in a few minutes, and Blackpool is an easy tram ride away.
At the same time, you can come back in the evening, sit in the lounge overlooking the water and be somewhere much quieter.
Bring The
(Dogs) Too

We’re also properly dog friendly. We have dogs ourselves, so we know how much easier a trip is when they can come along too.
Dogs are welcome throughout the house, and with the promenade and beach right outside, it’s a great spot for them as well.

Still Very
(Hands On)
House of Solstice is still very hands-on for us. When you message before a stay, it’s usually one of us replying. We put together the welcome treats, choose the places that go into our local guide and look after the house ourselves.
We’ve been really lucky to welcome families, groups of friends, birthdays, reunions and plenty of dogs through the doors already.
Equinox House is only the beginning. Over time, we’d like House of Solstice to become a small collection of individual holiday homes, each one a little different but with the same focus on good design, great locations and making people feel looked after.

For now though, we’re just really enjoying seeing people make Equinox House their own for a few days.
